Office Depot Recognized For Outstanding Product Quality And Service By David Weekley Homes29 July 2011 External Link: www.officedepot.com Office Depot (NYSE:ODP), celebrating 25 years as a leading global provider of office supplies and services, today was recognized for its outstanding product quality and service by David Weekley Homes, the nation's third largest for-profit privately held home builder. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Office Depot has received the esteemed "Partners of Choice" Award given this year to only 10 of the home builder's suppliers. Now in its seventh year, the "Partners of Choice" award is handed out to suppliers based on their quality and service as rated by David Weekley Homes' team members on a quarterly basis. The award is based on a comprehensive evaluation platform called the "National Trading Partner Survey." Approximately 150 companies participate in the program that allows 500 of David Weekley Homes' team members from all levels of the company to rate the suppliers' effectiveness in delivering quality and service to the organization. Its innovative rating system allows David Weekley Homes to compare companies' performance from different industries. "Office Depot is very appreciative of the David Weekly Homes 'Partners of Choice' Award. Honors such as this showcase Office Depot's continued customer-centric philosophy," said John Lander, Vice President of National Accounts for Office Depot. "Office Depot is committed to providing great value on supplies and services to help our customers efficiently operate and grow their business." "The National Trading Partner Survey is the only evaluation tool I know that allows a direct comparison of companies performing in significantly different industries. The depth and breadth of the rating system does not allow an organization to achieve high rating by simply addressing issues superficially. In essence, the survey goes beyond talk by challenging everyone in the channel to align themselves in support of the servicing David Weekley Homes," said Bill Justus, Vice President of Supply Chain for David Weekley Homes. "It is difficult for a partner to win our award in any given year. The fact that Office Depot has achieved an 'A,A' rating for three consecutive years proves that their organization is world-class." In compiling the results of the National Trading Partner Survey, each company's numeric scores are averaged, and then an alpha rating is assigned relative to its ranking as compared with all of Weekley's other national trading partners. Alpha ratings range from A to F in 20 percent increments. The "Partners of Choice" Award is presented to suppliers who maintained either an "A,A" rating for both Quality and Service for the previous twelve months or an "A" rating in either Quality or Service. Office Depot has been a partner to David Weekley Homes since 2002, providing office supplies and services.
