With just three weeks to go before the Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2011 competition closes, the race is on across the internet start-up community to submit an entry and be in with the chance to win a share of the €225,000 prize fund.
Vodafone Mobile Clicks is an international contest to identify and develop the best, most innovative mobile internet start-ups. Any new company with a mobile site, service or application across Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom can compete by submitting an entry to www.vodafonemobileclicks.com. The closing date for entries is midnight on 12th June, 2011 CET.
This year’s panel of local and global judges includes Rudy de Waele, founder of Mobile 2.0 Europe and dotopen; Peter Barry, Vodafone Ventures; Paul Jozefak, Mobile VC; Reshma Sohoni; partner at Seedcamp and Lee Epting, Vodafone Group. Each judge will be scoring entries based on five criteria: originality, creativity and innovation; technical and operational feasibility; economic and financial viability; value to end-users; and finally, the quality of the management team.
Budding start-ups looking for inspiration need look no further than last year’s Vodafone Mobile Clicks winner, Cardmobili. Since winning the competition in September 2010, Portugal-based Cardmobili has launched its application on Windows Phone 7, translated the app into French and Spanish and also seen its user base increase by 80%.Submit your entry into the Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2011 competition at www.vodafonemobileclicks.com.
