Changes To Train Times

First TransPennine Express (FTPE), which operates services across the north of England and into Scotland will be amending its timetable to give passengers improved choice and provide additional capacity.
Posters and revised timetables have been issued to stations and customers are being encouraged to check the details of their journeys as departure and arrival times might have altered slightly.
Services on FTPE's north route, connect Manchester Airport and West Yorkshire, York, Hull and the North East as well as Liverpool and Scarborough and there will be a number of revisions to departure and arrival times.
FTPE services from Middlesbrough, calling at Thornaby, Yarm and Northallerton will on weekdays from Monday 23rd May depart at xx50 every hour. This is ten minutes earlier for a number of current morning services. These services will arrive into York at xx47 providing an 8 minute connection onto non stop London bound services.
Customers traveling between Newcastle and York and Leeds and Hull will benefit from reduced journey times with some journeys up to 6 minutes quicker.
Trains leaving York for Manchester Airport will also depart a couple of minutes earlier than at present with departures at 26 minutes past and 57 minutes past the hour. FTPE services from Hull Paragon will now leave at xx40 every hour.
FTPE services from York to Newcastle have now been timed to depart at 58 minutes past the hour. FTPE will also be providing additional services to and from Chester-Le-Street on a 2 hourly basis.
Additional capacity will also be provided between Manchester and York on Fridays as the 1427 departure from Manchester Piccadilly has been lengthened to provide customers with extra seats.
To assist day trippers and holiday makers, FTPE will again be introducing shuttle services between York and Scarborough over the summer months. These services will run between 25th June and 10th September.
Edith Rodgers, FTPE's Customer Services Director commented on the changes;
"Some of the departure times have changes and whilst we have provided posters at stations and new timetables we are urging passengers to check the details of their journey before they travel."
The amended timetable will be in operation from Sunday May 22nd until Sunday 10th December 2011.
